STARTUP STATE INITIATIVE
Gov. Cox introduced the Startup State Initiative at his spring One Utah Summit in Salt Lake City on April 12, 2024. The Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) manages the new initiative.
Consistently named the best place in America to start a business, Utah’s Startup State Initiative organizes, highlights, and promotes Utah’s entrepreneurial community and elevates it to new heights.
This initiative helps Utah startups, small businesses, and entrepreneurs at every stage of business by:
● Unifying the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem
● Providing legislative recommendations to streamline the business process for Utahns
● Ensuring Utah’s economic opportunity is equitably shared
● Making impactful investments into access to capital for Utah small businesses
GOEO has developed a statewide entrepreneurship brand and business resource portal
at startup.utah.gov as a critical part of the Startup State Initiative.
The website and its resources are part of the team’s efforts to promote and amplify an already strong entrepreneurship community and elevate statewide conversations, introductions, and resources.
